Thank you to all
for another successful event!!
Well
the 11th Annual MIA Charity Golf Tournament is in the books.
I would like to thank all of the participants, sponsors, donors and
other contributors along with the
Golf Committee for making the 2009 Golf Tournament such a great
success.
This
year we had 204 golfers and 209 for dinner. The weather held out
for the golfing and we only had a few sprinkles throughout the day –
nobody got too wet.
After dinner the 2008 1st Place Foursome posed for a photo op
with the Tournament Plate that had just been newly engraved with their
names. Congrats again to
Doug Flear, Phil MacNiel, Ken Brennan,
Jamie Andre from the Local 95 Team "E".
Then
it was time to announce the 2009 1st Place Foursome.
Mary Baldassarre, Jim Baldassarre, Daniel Lombardo,
and Jim Fuoco posed with the Tournament Plate that will soon bear their
names and then they were presented with their Tournament Steins.
Congratulations to the Ultima Insulation Ltd. (Kleinburg) team.
The
sad part of this Tournament is that this is the last year at Kleinburg
Golf Club enjoying the great course thanks to Marty Weber and the great
food thanks to Vince Boada.
We
raised a lot of money again for Mesothelioma Research and Early
Detection Program at Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. The final
total will be published at a later date. For a
complete list of those companies and
individuals who supported our efforts is shown later on this page.
Thank you to the many companies who donated draw prizes. Combined
with the electronic products purchased by the Golf Committee, the
Draw Prizes made for a lot of excitement
and anticipation during the draw.
Next
year we are going to to start a new relationship with Nobleton Lakes
Golf Club. Hope to see you there next year for good golf, good food, a
good time and hopefully a good fundraising effort for Mesothelioma
Research.
For
those that participated, we can relive some of the moments by visiting
the GOLF09 page in the photo gallery. And
for those that didn't attend, you can get an idea of of what you can
look forward to next year. Kleinburg Golf Club has certainly set a
high standard for Nobleton Lakes Golf Club to match but I'm sure they
are more than up to the challenge.
